Where's George

So , as I am sure as is the case with most people, I have several odd, irrelavent hobbies. One such minor hobby is the bill tracking site, wheresgeorge. I find it interesting to see where a bill has been and where it will eventually go. And even more then the actual tracking, I enjoy leaving slightly deranged 240 character messages on bills that I enter as they will in all likelyhood not be seen by very many people( just like this entry, ironically). But I feel that I really must share. Cause its really the little things in life that matter, you know? Anywho, some exampes:

~Man, when are they going to update the one dollar bill. I mean, you've got all these spiffy new 20s, 10s, & 5s floating around, but alas, the humble single gets no love. Secretly, I feel this is the true cause of the declining economy...

~And here we have a comely, if slightly weathered George. The evidence of a life well lived graces his once halcyon face, while his sporty stare seems to retain a spark of youthful vigor that undoubtably yearns to set off for adventure once again

~I recieved this dollar as a tip from a spitting man. Were I you, I'd be washing my hands after touching this one.

~Oh how I envy this simple bill and the travels it will inevitably experience. Someday, Mr. Washington, someday I will get the gumption up and learn to be more like you. Goodspeed to you!

~Alas this bill is somewhat wrinkled after having spent a fair amount of time in our front left pocket alongside of 2 bobby pins, a gum wrapper, and, of course, the mouse that enables us to refer to ourselves in the plural in the first place.

Now if you'll excuse me, my mouse and I have people to see, places to be, and a hankerin' for some brie. Or we would if he wasn't just a figment of my imagination. And an awesome one at that.

A haiku

   Golden fields assault,
Panting beast collapses now,
   Screw you guys, I quit.

I was extemely temped to leave this on the manager's desk as my resignation, but ended up taking the mature if slightly less satisfying route of leaving my two week notice instead. Its a shame as I really did honestly enjoy working there up until the change of management this year, but the working conditions have been going steadily downhill ever since, to the extent that I can't remember the last time I was genuinely glad to be there. I tried to suck it up and tough it through for as long as I could, but at this point the job is starting to take its toll on me emotionally and I don't like the emo, potato-like person I am becoming as a result of it. I would much rather go back to being a regular old potato-like person instead.

But enough of that vibe-harshery. On a more positive note, the hoss' sore foot has finally healed, meaning we can go ranch sorting this week! Horrah!

Also, there was a young black bear in my back yard again yesterday. Flippin' aces, man. Just flippin' aces.

Artz
Well after a bit of an art hiatus, I have finally started to draw again. Thus, I am hoping to make this into an artjournal of sorts, since I really don't have anything of intrest to say otherwise. Especially now that I have finally overcome my crippling fear of LJ cuts. So to start things out:

It is a horse!.

So this is something I did a few years ago. It was done with cheap, crappy pastels from one of those "my first arteest" kits on pastel paper. Not bad, considering it was my 3rd attempt with them. But the anatomy and composition could use some help. Especially as I took this on my digital camera in poor lighting. Oh well.

Hopefully I will get off my duff and post some of my other older things I've got sometime in the near future. And a few of the newer as well. Hurrah for productivity!!! And now to sleee... zzzzzz

I have become a cycling fool. Today I went on a 12 mile evening ride. Last sunday ended up being a 30 mile ride in total. Next weekend I will try for 35 miles, or perhaps maybe the bridge if I'm feeling up for it. Eventually I hope to try to cycle the mostly uphill route to work. Dunno if I can handle hills that early in the day though, not to mention coming back up the mountain on the ride home. Certainly something to be worked up to, but the current gas prices make for an excellent incentive. Ergh.
